

Mary Alice Williams, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, passed away peacefully on April 8, 2026, at the age of 81. She was surrounded by devoted family at home in Clinton, Mississippi.
Born September 1, 1944, in Houston, Mississippi, Mary was the daughter of Earl and Evie Lee Oswalt. She graduated from Houston High School in 1962 where she was student council president, Valedictorian, and voted "Most intelligent" and "Most likely to succeed." Mary furthered her education at Hinds Community College and Mississippi College until marrying the love of her life, Cordell Hull Williams, on July 31, 1964. Together, they raised 2 children: Marty and Cleta, who were guided with lessons of faith, love, perseverance, service, and wisdom.
Mary had a passion for music and her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. She was known as a talented singer, pianist, and choir director. Cordell and Mary touched many lives sharing God's love through Christian church and charity music ministries.
Mary is preceded in death by her father, mother, elder sister, Barbara Weaver, and step-granddaughter, Morgan Netherland. She is survived by her husband, Cordell Williams, her younger sister, Phillis Bayly, son Marty Williams (Lisa), and daughter Cleta Netherland (Phil). In addition to her children, Mary is survived by four granddaughters (Amanda, Valerie, Madison, and Amelia) and four great-grandchildren (Makenzie, Cami, Jonah, and Azia), and many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held at Lakewood Funeral Home at 6011 Clinton Boulevard, Jackson, Mississippi 39209 on April 12, 2026, from 12:30-2:30pm followed by a celebration of life service at 2:30pm. Family and friends are invited to pay their respects and share their memories.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Mary's memory to "Friends of Alcoholics" which was close to her heart.
