Mayme Lukey

Mayme was born April 17, 1934 in Jackson, MS. She was preceded in death by her parents Fred O. Rees and Josie Rankin Rees and husband Douglas R. Lukey.

Mayme was a graduate of Clinton High School and Hinds Jr. College where she played basketball. After her marriage she lived in Statesville, NC for 34 years before moving to Madison. She was a member of Trace Ridge Baptist Church, an active member of the Walter Leak Chapter of the DAR, numerous bridge clubs and Whisper Lake Golf Club, where she played golf.

Survivors include her sisters; Ann Reed Ferrell (Cecil) and Lynn Rees Gunter (Tom), brothers; Joe Alden Rees and Fred F. Rees (Edith), nephews; Mike King, Bobby Franciskato, Bruce King and Josh Rees.

Visitation will be held at Wright and Ferguson, High Street on Thursday from 5:00pm to 7:00pm and services are scheduled for Friday at 2:00PM December 28, 2012. Graveside services will follow at Lakewood Memorial Cemetery. In Lieu of flowers donations may be made to the DAR, Rosalie in Natchez or your favorite charity.
