Melissa Beth Parker

Melissa Satterfield Parker of Brandon has passed away. Services for Melissa will be held on Tuesday at 10:00am at St. James' Episcopal Church with visitation starting at 9:00am. Burial will follow at Lakewood Memorial Park. She was born April 6, 1964 in Jackson, daughter of Carol Cavin Satterfield and C. W. (Bill) Satterfield. She attended Covenant Presbyterian School, Jackson Academy and Jackson Prep. She later attended Millsaps College and graduated from Hinds School of Nursing. She worked as a nurse at several Jackson area hospitals including University of Mississippi Medical Center and St. Dominic Hospital. She was preceded in death by her parents and grandparents Joe and Gladys Cavin of Jackson and Isidor and Peggy Perlinsky of Canton.

Melissa is survived by her mother, Carol Satterfield, her aunt and uncle Elizabeth and Al Hope of Abilene, Texas; cousin Chuck Hope and his daughter Sarah Hope of Arlington, Texas; Steve and Amy Hope of Denton, Texas, their daughter Rebecca and son Andrew; and Katherine Hope Newell of Canton. Melissa leaves three precious dachshunds, Pig, Lovie and Tiny who were the lights of her life.

Memorials may be made to the Mississippi Animal Rescue League at MARL, Post Office Box 13768, Jackson, Mississippi 39236-3768 or to St. James' Episcopal Church, 3921 Oak Ridge Drive here in Jackson.
