

Born in Magee, MS on 9/19/28 and moved to Forest, LA at the age of 2 and moved back to Jackson, MS at the age of 18 where she met and married the love of her life, Edward Eugene “Gene” Sant.
Preceded in death by her parents Bill and Lillian Smith, husband Edward Eugene Sant of 54 years, her loving daughter, Linda Sant Heflin, sisters Callie Mae Parden, Beatrice Frith, Erma Lee McMillan, Frances Streeter and brothers, Billy Ray Smith, Prentiss Smith, Wayne Smith, Lloyd Smith and Durwood Smith.
Survived by her daughter Barbara Sant Harrell, Grandson Charles Edward Harrell, Sr. great granddaughter, Aleila Harrell, great grandson Charles Edward Harrell, Jr. and great great grandson Charles Edward Harrell, III, soon to be great-great grandson Baby Stec, great granddaughter in law – Kelsey Goyer, soon to be great grandson in law Connor Stec, one sister Carolyn Smith McMillan and a very special “adopted” daughter Beverley Seay.
Myrtis loved her family and made numerous sacrifices to make sure that they always had everything they needed but most of all she made sure they knew they were loved with all her heart.
She was a loving and devoted Christian lady who loved the Lord deeply and believed in the power of prayer. She loved her church and her church family. She taught the 4th grade Sunday School class for over twenty years. She loved gospel music and loved to sing, although her girls lovingly joked with her to “wash the dishes and leave the singing to us”. She would laugh and sing louder.

A visitation for Myrtis will be held Tuesday, January 14, 2025 from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM at Lakewood Funeral Home, 6011 Clinton Blvd, Jackson, Mississippi 39209, followed by a funeral service at 3:00 PM.
Myrtis will be laid to rest in Lakewood Memorial Park, 6000 Clinton Blvd., Jackson, Mississippi 39209.
