Peggy Deatherage Golden

Peggy Deatherage Golden, 85, passed away November 11, 2013 at her home in Byram, MS. Peggy was born in Glenrock , Wyoming to Virgil and Fern Deatherage in 1928. She began her much loved nursing career following graduation from Southern Baptist Hospital, New Orleans in 1949. That same year aboard the USAT General A. W. Greely, she met Billy Dyer Golden and married December 31, 1949 and celebrated 53 years of marriage prior to his death in 2002.

She is survived by her children, Bruce Golden(Kris), Kitty Brown(Charlie) and Pam Davis (Gary); granddaughters Toni Shirey (Brian), Lori Brown, Chelsea Golden, Madelyn Davis, Kathryn Davis and Harper Golden; great-grandchildren Noah and Hannah Shirey; brothers Jim Deatherage(Linda) and Vic Deatherage (Lynn) and much loved nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her brother Paul Deatherage (June) and sister Jeanette Wilkins.

Visitation at Wright & Ferguson on High St will be at 10:00 AM Thursday, followed by service at 11:00. She will be interred at Cedar Lawn Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Mississippi Food Network, PO box 411, Jackson, Ms. 39205. Online guestbook www.wrightferguson.com
