Rachel H. Mills

Rachel Hunt Mills, 66, passed away Thursday July 1, 2010 at Mississippi Baptist Medical Center. Visitation will be 4-6pm Sunday at Wright and Ferguson Funeral Home on High Street in Jackson. A Prayer Service will follow at 6:00pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:00am Monday July 5, 2010 at St. Jude Catholic Church in Pearl, MS. Burial will follow in Lakewood Memorial Park.

Rachel was born in Vicksburg, MS where she graduated from St. Francis Xavier Academy.

She served as a secretary/bookkeeper for Holy Family Church and School in Jackson, St. Jude Catholic Church and Daycare in Pearl, and retired after 29 years as accounting clerk with the Catholic Diocese of Jackson.

She was a former member of Beta Sigma Pi-Iota Chapter and a member of St. Jude Catholic Church in Pearl where she had served as the Chairman of the Finance Committee and Eucharistic Minister.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Catherine Margaret Ryan Hunt; father, Ray Benjamin Hunt; and infant sister, Margaret Isabell Hunt. Survivors include her husband Dixon H. Mills of Brandon, MS; sons, Andy Mills of Boston, MA, and Ricky Mills (Emily) of Brandon, MS; granddaughters, Mallory Mills, Madison Mills,and Mauri Mills all of Brandon, MS; grandson, Mason Mills of Brandon, MS; and sister, Mary Eulalia Field (Bill) of Vicksburg, MS.

Pallbearers will be Dixon Mills, Andy Mills, Ricky Mills, Bill Field, Jr., Kirby Field, and Trey Field.
