Raymond Lavelle Hughes, Sr., 88, passed away at Hospice Ministries on Thursday, September 24, 2015. Visitation will be held on Friday, September 25 from 5-7p.m. at Lakewood Funeral Home and Saturday, September 26 from 1-2 p.m. Services will be held on Saturday, September 26 at 2 p.m. at Lakewood Funeral Home with interment to follow at Terry City Cemetery in Terry, MS.
Raymond was preceded in death by his parents, Fletcher and Florrie Hughes of Lauderdale; his children, Deborah Ann Hughes and Mark Hughes; and his brother, Franklin Hughes of Starkville.
Raymond is survived by his wife of 66 years, Rachel Hughes of Clinton; his daughter, Marla’ Hughes of Terry; his son, Sonny Hughes (Julia) of Terry; his grandchildren, David Hughes (Laurie), Angie Taylor (John), Ryan Bridgers (Michelle), and Kayla Fuller (Josh); his great-grandchildren, Austin Hughes, Anna Hensley, Haley Taylor, Ethan Bridgers, Nathan Bridgers, Aidan Bridgers, and Emerson Fuller; and his niece and nephews.
