Visitation will be held at Lakewood Funeral Home on Wednesday, May 4 from 5:30 to 7:30 PM and Thursday from 12:00 to 1:00 PM with the funeral service to follow. Interment will be at Lakewood Memorial Park.
Revis was born in Bolton, MS on August 4, 1938 to the late Revis Lee Hawkins, Sr. and Mary Gill Hawkins.
After graduating from Bolton High School he enlisted in the Army National Guard where he served for 8 years. He was a member of Capitol Lodge #600 and the Wahabi Shriners.
Revis was self-employed for many years as a carpet installer before he went into carpet sales at Direct Carpet where he worked until his retirement in 1996. He was a hard worker and always provided for his family.
Revis was a member of Pocahontas Baptist Church in Clinton and had been visiting Briarhill Baptist Church in Florence.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 57 years, Leona Bass Hawkins and sister, Marilyn Milstead.
He is survived by his children, Jeff (Renee) Hawkins of Florence, Lane (Tammy) Hawkins of Brandon, Lisa (Dennis) Ellis of Byram and Jill (Marc) Ross of Florence; brother, Kendall (Nancy) Hawkins of Hot Springs, AR. He is also survived by grandchildren, Jeffrey (Liberty) Hawkins, Brittney Ross Purvis (Nathan), Austin Ross, Chelsea Miller, Kelsie & Veronica Hawkins, Tamara & Johnathan; great grandchildren Garrett, Nova Grace, Chance, Mason and Olivia James.
