She was born August 29, 1954, to Charles and Dorothy Morrow at St. Dominic Hospital,
Jackson, MS.
Shannon met Emmett Shumate in Dallas, Texas, married July 1981 and had Emmett G.
Shumate II, May 1983. August 2004, Shannon and family moved back to Jackson area where
she was a highly respected realtor and broker of Shannon Shumate Realty for almost 21
years.
She is preceded by her father, Charles Morrow, and mother, Dorothy Fox (Morrow) Palmer;
sisters Madelyn Morrow Matijevich and Nancy Farmer (Jon).
Left to cherish Shannon are her husband, Emmett, children, Emmett Shumate II, Kiev AdairMunoz (JR); stepdaughter Robin Shumate; grandsons Devon Adair, Kai Shumate and
granddaughter Leiki Daniels. Additionally, 3 nieces and 3 nephews along with multiple great nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to CARA animal shelter of Clinton, Mississippi,
Cystic Fibrosis Foundation – North Texas Chapter, Alzheimer Foundation – MS Chapter.
A visitation will be held on July 28, 2025 at 3:00 pm at Northside Baptist Church,1475 E Northside Dr, Clinton, MS 39056 with a memorial service to follow at 4:00 pm.
