Shirley Elaine Rimmer Kimbrell

Shirley R. Kimbrell, 86, passed away on Saturday, September 24, 2022. Visitation will be held at Lakewood Funeral Home on Thursday, September 29 from 8:30 to 10:00 AM with the funeral service to follow in the chapel. Interment will be at Lakewood Memorial Park in Jackson, MS. Mrs. Kimbrell was born in Greenwood, MS on October 16, 1935 to the late Jerry and Naomi Lambert Rimmer. She retired from the MS Department of Health where she had worked as an office manager. She was a faithful member of Parkway Baptist Church for 45 years. She is preceded in death by her husband of 55 years, Samuel “Sam” Kimbrell; parents and her fur babies, Bonnie and Abby. Mrs. Kimbrell is survived by one son, Samuel Andrew “Andy” Kimbrell and his wife Penelope Amelie “Penny” Kimbrell of Baton Rouge, LA; three precious grandchildren who were the sunshine in her life, Samuel Andrew “Drew” Kimbrell, Jr., Katherine Jane “Katie” Kimbrell, and Kelly Ann Kimbrell. She is also survived by her fur baby, Buffy.
