Dr. Thomas W. Talkington

He was born in Bogalusa, Louisiana on June 28, 1922, the son of a Baptist Minister, Dr. Isaac Walton Talkington and Dora Clement Talkington.

Dr. Thomas Talkington was a Naval Medical Officer during the Korean War. He attended Mississippi College, Ole Miss and Tulane Medical Schools.

He was a General Practitioner in Natchez, Mississippi and practiced Orthopedic Surgery at Hinds General Hospital in Jackson, Mississippi for many years.

He was married to Gloria Mcgee Talkington for 32 years and for the last 25 years to Marjorie Gill Talkington.

He is survived by two sons, Dr. James Talkington of Panama City, Florida and Thomas William Talkington of Kiln, Mississippi. Grandchildren include Grant, Grey, and Lindsey Talkington and Chad and Tyler Talkington. He is survived by a sister, Odessa McAmis of San Francisco.

Dr. Thomas Talkington was a member of St. Luke's United Methodist Church.

Visitation will be 10:00 AM Tuesday April 27, 2010 with a funeral service beginning at 11:00 am at St. Lukes United Methodist Church. Interment will follow the service in Lakewood Cemetery.
