Willie E. New, 83, passed away on Saturday, June 8, 2019 in Madison, MS. Visitation will be on Tuesday, June 11, 2019 from 1 pm to 3 pm at Lakewood Funeral Home. A funeral service will be at 3 pm at the funeral home with interment to follow at Lakewood Memorial Park.
He was born on May 18, 1936 to the late Radford and Myrtle Phillips New. Willie served his country in the Airforce in the 1950’s and worked in Canton until December of 2018 at 82 years of age after his surgery. No matter the circumstances, he always spoke in a positive manner and had a great outlook on life and death. Willie loved to hunt and fish and most would find him sitting outside to smoke. He loved his family most of all and will be greatly missed.
Willie is preceded in death by his wife, Joyce New; four brothers and two sisters. He is survived by five children, Brandee Quayle (Brian), Wanda Taylor (Robert), Jo Lynn Taylor (Doug), Thomas New (deceased wife, Renee) and Michael New (deceased wife, Sheri); eleven grandchildren and fifteen great grandchildren.
