
Cecil was born on March 1, 1928 in Water Valley, MS to the late Cecil, Sr. and Nettie Crews. Cecil retired from Illinois Central Railroad in 1986 as an Engineer. He served 32 years in the Tennessee Army National Guard, retiring as a Lieutenant Colonel. He was a member of Woodland Hills Country Club and an avid golfer. He was a fan of the St. Louis Cardinals and Ole Miss. He was a member of Lambuth Memorial Methodist Church. Cecil never met a stranger and he will be greatly missed by his family and friends.
Cecil is survived by his loving wife of 65 years, Angeline Barnes Crews of Jackson; his daughter, Susan Crews Noble (Stan) of Santa Fe, TN; nephew, Brad Melton of Jackson, TN; and a niece, Stephanie Fox Ross of Truth or Consequences, NM.
The family will receive friends on Saturday morning, March 12, 2016 at 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. at George A. Smith and Sons North Chapel.
The funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. at George A. Smith and Sons North Chapel with Bill Simmons officiating. Interment will be in Ridgecrest Cemetery.
