

Charles was born on May 12, 1959 in Cherry Point, NC to Charles Kenneth Love, Sr. and the late Margaret Stanley Love. He was an Eagle Scout and served as a Congressional Page while in High School in the Eleventh Grade. He was a graduate of the University of Tennessee with a Bachelor of Arts. He was a member of the Sigma Chi fraternity where he remained a loyal life member.
Following in his father’s footsteps, he developed an early affinity for airplanes and began piloting at the age of 12. By the age of 16, he was a private pilot and served as an airline pilot for over 26 years. Charles could fly single-engine aircrafts, multi-engine aircrafts, jet planes, and float planes. He was also an acrobatic pilot. He clocked over 15,000 + hours as an airline pilot for FlexJet.
Charles was preceded in death by his mother, Margaret Stanley Love.
He is survived by his father, Charles Kenneth Love, Sr.; his brother, Dennis Ormand Love (Jeanette); as well as numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews.
A Celebration of Life service for Charles will be held on Saturday, April 2, 2022 at 11 a.m. from the North Chapel of George A. Smith and Sons with Rev. Gerry Campbell of Northside Church officiating. A private entombment will be at Highland Memorial Gardens.
Following the service, a catered reception will be held in the adjacent Grand Foyer of the North Chapel of George A. Smith and Sons.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials in Charles’ memory be directed to the Alzheimer’s Research Foundation, 620 Sea Island Rd., Ste. 324, St. Simon’s Island, GA 31522
