

She was born on August 7, 1924 in Kenton, TN to George Gentry and Vonnie Orr Boucher. Connie graduated from Mason Hall High School with the class of 1942. She was soon employed with Sears Roebuck and Company in Memphis, TN for 21 years. There she became General Manager Correspondent and enjoyed her work along with the coordination of some ninety catalog offices, employee committees, fashion shows, and the 75th anniversary celebration.
In the transfer of her husband to Atlanta, GA, Connie was transferred to Sears in Atlanta but she chose to rest a while and do volunteer work. After about five years, Connie became anxious to work again. She was employed by J.C. Penney and Company as Credit and Customer Service Supervisor where she retired in 1986. She enjoyed the work at Penney’s and became a member of the Retiree’s Group, The Penney Loafers. She has kept in close touch with this group.
Connie was always very energetic and in St. Stephens United Methodist Church Memphis, she was a teacher, youth counselor, worked with the local district and conference for approximately 14 years, in the United Methodist Women and Wesleyan Service Guild. She always served locally and also as district president of the Memphis conference, chairman of missionary education, and Wesleyan Service Guild Conference Chairman of the School of Missions.
Connie was elected as a Memphis Conference delegate to the United Methodist Women’s Assembly in Atlantic City. She was also recognized and honored at a Centennial Celebration in Memphis for her service and is recorded in the United Methodist Women history book, “The Spreading Flame.” In Georgia Forest Park and Morrow United Methodist Church, she was president and group leader of the United Methodist Women. Also, Connie was a member of the Church Official Board, building campaign, finance, stewardship, evangelism, and church treasurer. She also served as chairperson of the Council on Ministers, and the Morrow Church Bicentennial Committee.
Soon after moving to Jackson, TN, in 1992, she became a member of First United Methodist Church and worked as a member of the Senior Adult Council, the Dick Nunn Sunday School Class, chairperson of the note writing group, and member of the prayer ministry. She was also leader of the United Methodist Women.
Connie was a member of the Board of the North Highland Association and enjoyed the neighborhood.
Her hobbies were traveling, decorating, gardening, cooking, and entertaining, especially church groups at Christmas time.
Connie was preceded in death by her precious husband of 64 years, Paul Richard Krone; her parents, George and Vonnie Boucher; a brother, George Boucher; and two sisters in law, Martha Jean Boucher and Patsy Boucher.
She is survived by her brother, Jamie Boucher of Dyer, TN; two nephews, Andre Boucher of Dyer, TN, and Clint Boucher (Lea Ann) of Springfield, TN; one niece, Amy Crenshaw of Trenton, TN; her great niece, Kelsie Read (Kody); one great nephew, Jesse Boucher (Chloe); and one step sister, Gloria Jean Littleton of Kenton, TN.
A service to celebrate the life of Connie Boucher Krone will be held on Friday, May 9, 2025 at 11 a.m. at the North Chapel of George A. Smith and Sons Funeral Home with Rev. Dan Camp officiating. The family will receive friends beginning at 9:30 am, one and a half hour before the service. A graveside committal service will be held later that afternoon at 1:30 pm at Rutherford City Cemetery in Rutherford, TN.
