Doris Elizabeth (Pope) Hodge

She was born on August 31, 1921 in Henderson County, TN to the late William Franklin Pope and Katie Biglane Pope. She was a graduate of Jackson High School, class of 1940. She married George William (Bill) Hodge on August 17, 1940 and they were married 65 years until his death in 2005. She was a member of Parkview Baptist Church.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her son, Don Hodge; her grandson, Hunter Hodge; her siblings, Murrell Pope, Lorenz Pope, and Dorothy Douglass.

She is survived by her son, David Hodge (Cindy) of Beech Bluff; her grandchildren, Amy Adams (Neil) of Arlington, TN, Cory Hodge of Bell Buckle, TN, and Harrison Hodge (Dana) of Jackson, TN; three great grandchildren, Tatum Garner, Cody Hodge, and Drake Hodge; two step great grandchildren, Sadie Stodden and Brandon Stodden; and two sisters, Louise Stegall and Norma Jean Gaines.

The family will receive friends on Wednesday, October 25, 2023 from 1-2 p.m. at the North Chapel of George A. Smith and Sons with a funeral service following at 2 p.m. Burial will follow in Ridgecrest Cemetery.
