

Juanita was born on December 9, 1925 to Joe Thomas Blankenship and Linnie McMinn Blankenship. She was the oldest of seven children that were born. She was married to Vallie Wimberly on February 5,1943 and to this union she had four children, Martha Jo, Tim, Barry and Kevin. Her husband passed away in 1995, eight days shy of celebrating their 52nd anniversary.
She was preceded in death by her husband Vallie, her parents, two brothers James, and Joe Albert Blankenship and two sisters Lavern, and Rachel Gregory, two sons John Mark and Phillip Keith and one great granddaughter whom she loved Samantha Chyanne Scott.
She is survived by her daughter Martha Jo (Ken) Scott of Jackson, TN, Kevin (Kristen) Wimberly of Plainfield, CT, Barry (Melissa) Wimberly of Jackson,TN, and Tim Wimberly of MS. She leaves four grandchildren, Jon (Laquita) Scott of Jackson, TN, Eric (Kacy) Scott of Jackson, TN, Jennifer (Tim) Doyle of Milan, TN, and Alex and Clay Wimberly of Jackson, TN. She also has three great grandchildren Cody and Dylan Scott, and Hope Rose Scott. She is survived by a sister Sue Bickerstaff of Jackson, TN and one brother Charles Blankenship (Martha) of Cedar Grove, TN.
She was employed at first by McCorry-McLellans, then later by Gibson Discount Center where she retired from the jewelry counter and did film processing. She was a member of Pleasant Hill Baptist Church of Jackson where she was a member of the Louise Stanford Sunday School Class. Mrs. Wimberly was Baptist in belief and loved to cook and share with others. She loved crossword puzzles and could make her garden grow. She loved her Church Family.
Visitation will be Friday November 11, 2016 at George A. Smith and Sons North Chapel from 9:30 a.m.- 11:00 a.m. A graveside service will follow at 12 Noon at Hopewell Baptist Church Cemetery with her nephew Jimmy Scott officiating.
Pallbears will be Jon and Eric Scott, Randall Blankenship, Stevie Gregory, Kevin Wimberly and Clay Wimberly.
Honorary pallbears will be Ray and Tommy Price, Cecil Casey, Bobby Blankenship, Jackie Stephenson, Ron Parker, Rex Allison, Kenny Bickerstaff, and Dr. Wayne Rhear.
Thanks to the fine staff of Bells Nursing Home including the special nurses, aids, cleaning staff, kitchen staff, administration staff, and physical therpaists for the excellent care of our mom.
