George was born in Nashville, TN on March 22, 1941, the son of the late Charles H. Reese, Jr. and Dorothy Juanita Reese. George was a graduate of Father Ryan High School in Nashville, TN and a graduate of Vanderbilt's Peabody College. George was an Army veteran. He and Norma moved to Jackson, TN in 1974 where he and his brother, Charlie, would start their company, Reese Supply, Inc. in 1975 until their retirement in 1997. George was an avid Vanderbilt sports fan. He and Norma were also huge animal lovers and advocates, especially for their many cats and dogs. George, a life-long Catholic, was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church.
In addition to his parents, George was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 43 years, Norma Reese; his sister, Dorothy Reese Hawkins; and brother in law, Ronnie Hawkins, Sr.
He is survived by his brother and sister-in-law, Charles H. Reese, III and Carolyn Reese; four nieces, Cathy Reese of Jonesboro, AR, Laura Cearley (Paul) of Jackson, Julie Reese of Jackson, and Kimberly Climer of Nashville; two nephews, Ron Hawkins, Jr. (Angela) of Brentwood and Gary Roseti of Nashville; several great nieces and nephews; and many dear friends and neighbors.
Due to COVID-19, a private family graveside service will be held on Saturday at Ridgecrest Cemetery, officiated by Fr. Richard Cortese of St. Mary's Church.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests you do something kind in George's memory, such as a donation to the Jackson Animal Care Center, St. Mary's Catholic Church, or a kindness of your choosing.
