Grace Elizabeth Reynolds Laycook

Mrs. Laycook was married to the late Lois G. Laycook, Jr. of Jackson for 70 years. She was born May 9, 1922 in Cincinnati, OH to the late Alfred Jerome “Tom” Reynolds and Grace Reynolds Reynolds.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 70 years, Lois Graden Laycook, Jr.; two brothers, A.J. “Tommy” Reynolds of Atlanta and James H. Reynolds of Buchanan, GA.

For the past five years, Mrs. Laycook resided at Northbrooke Health Care where she enjoyed the fellowship in activities and music programs with her friends. She was also an avid reader.

She and her husband were longtime members of Northside United Methodist Church.

She is survived by her two children, L. Graden Laycook, III (Linda) of Glenn Dale, MD, and Joy Laycook Brillante (Rob) of Bowie, MD; five grandchildren, Graden Laycook IV (Bea), Robin Hawley (Caleb), Lauren Miller (Anthony), Jordan Laycook (Joni), and Nathan Laycook (Dana); nine great grandchildren, Arin Laycook, Graden Laycook, Myles Miller, Lydia Hawley, Ashley Laycook, Audrey Miller, James Jordan Laycook, Joel Hawley, and Claire Laycook; five nieces and one nephew, Melinda Jordan and Carol Emery of Jackson, Cynthia Gearin, Kellie Gerstmyer and Tom Reynolds of Atlanta, GA, and Kim Phillips of Omaha, NE.

The family will receive friends beginning Friday morning, July 22, 2016 at 9 a.m. at George A. Smith and Sons North Chapel, 2812 North Highland Ave., Jackson, TN 38305.

A funeral service will be conducted at 10 a.m. at George A. Smith and Sons North Chapel with Rev. Don Thrasher officiating. Interment will follow in Ridgecrest Cemetery.
