He was born on March 17, 1921 in Brownsville, TN, the son of the late Harry and Mary Yelverton. He lived in Jackson most of his life and was Baptist in belief. He served in WWII in the European Theatre for one year. He was a paint contractor in the Jackson are for over sixty years.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Oneida Deming Yelverton.
He is survived by two sons, Guy Yelverton, Jr (Julie) of San Antonio, TX, and Gary Yelverton of Jackson; two grandchildren, Guy Yelverton, III (Alysha) and Juliana Yelverton; and ten great grandchildren.
The family will receive friends and loved ones at a visitation to be held on Saturday, July 28, 2018 from 12-1 p.m. at the North Chapel of George A. Smith and Sons.
The funeral service is to be conducted at 1 p.m. from the North Chapel of George A. Smith and Sons with interment to follow in Ridgecrest Cemetery. Military funeral honors will be rendered at the graveside.
