She was born on September 22, 1945, in Chester County, Tennessee, to the late Carson and Louise Weaver Riley. Joann devoted her life to her family as a homemaker and loving mother, finding her greatest joy in caring for those she loved and creating a warm and welcoming home.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Billy Greer; and her sisters, Virginia Riley Sykes and Diane Riley King.
Joann is survived by her children, Stephanie Wray (Darrell) and Greg Greer; her granddaughter, Amanda Jones (Ryan); her great-grandchildren, Weston and Hudson Jones; and her siblings, Donna Riley Caraway, Lonnie Riley (Sheila), and William Lee Riley.
A graveside service to celebrate the life of Joann Greer will be held on Thursday, December 18, 2025, at 1:00 p.m. at Cave Springs Cemetery in Chester County, Tennessee. The family will receive friends on Thursday, December 18, 2025, from 10:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. at the South Chapel of George A. Smith and Sons Funeral Home.
Joann will be remembered for her quiet strength, devotion to her family, and the love she shared with all who knew her.
