

She was born March 29, 1928 and was reared in the Five Points Community. She was the daughter of the late Arbon and Ethel Clenney Edgin.
Ms. Kern was a former co-owner of the City Pig Restaurant in downtown Jackson with her aunt, Ms. Pauline Collins for many years. She also worked for Becky Carey at the Red Dog for 25 years where she made many friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers James and Clyde Edgin of Scotts Hill, TN, and her husbands, William Ernest Roach of Bemis, TN and Fred Kern of Jackson, TN.
Ms. Kern is survived by a daughter Barbara Ann Williford and a son William Jackie Roach (Reba) of Jackson. She also leaves three grandchildren Glynn Williford, Sherry Hersman and Caitlin Roach; three great grandchildren Taylor Williford, Morgan Woods, and Christian Hersman; a sister Janet Edgin Powers (Thomas) of Scotts Hill, TN; a aunt Pauline Edgin Collins of Jackson; a niece Antia Chapman; two nephews Larry Edgin and Greg Edgin all of Scotts Hill, TN and a special companion, Jimmie Ray Scott of Jackson.
Ms. Kern had many Friends that she loved and stayed in touch with. She would help them and want nothing in return, but their friendship.
Visitation will be Thursday, May 5, 2011 5 – 8 pm at the South Chapel.
