Kari Denise Granade-Jemison, age 33, passed away October 7, 2015 at Jackson Madison County Hospital. Kari was born on September 30, 1982 in El Dorado, AR to Joe and Vickie Granade. Kari attended Parkers Chapels School until the family relocated to East TN. Kari graduated from Jefferson County High School, Tennessee School of Therapeutic Massage and Walter State Community College in Morristown, TN. Kari worked as the Director of the YMCA afterschool program and the Jefferson County School Board. She later relocated to Jackson, TN where she continued as a child advocate for West Tennessee Child Development Center.
Kari is survived by her husband, Joseph Jemison and her daughter Rachel Grace Ross (10) both of Jackson. She is also survived by her parents, Joe and Vickie Granade of Jackson and her brother, Justin Granade of Strawberry Plains, TN. Maternal grandparents, Al & Audrey Ezell and Aunt and Uncle – Gerry & Darrell Tomlinson all of El Dorado, AR.
The family will receive friends on Saturday, October 10, 2015 at the North Chapel of George A. Smith and Sons from 1-2 p.m. A memorial service for Kari will be held at 2 p.m. with Fr. David Graham officiating.
