

Lisa was born on October 27, 1958 in Memphis, TN, the daughter of the late John Murray and Cooper Turner Murray. Lisa grew up in Jackson and was a member of the Jackson Central Merry class of 1976. She attended the University of Tennessee at Knoxville before marrying the love of her life, Paul, in June of 1979. Lisa loved beaches and dogs, but the real joy in her life came from being a mother and grandmother. “Grandma Lisee” was the role that she loved and excelled at the most.
In addition to her parents, Lisa was preceded in death by her cherished husband of nearly 36 years, Paul Foster Rice, and her in-laws, Russell Rice Sr. and Edna E. Rice.
She is survived by her children, twins Megan Rice Latta (Robert) and P. Michael Rice (Leah); her four beloved grandchildren, Olivia P. Rice, Amelia “Millie” Latta, Henry M. Rice, and J. Foster Latta.; Lisa also leaves behind her siblings, Gena Mandle (Mike), Christian Mahoney, Cooper Murray (Kristine), and Tripp Murray (Maureen); her sister-in-law, Craig Stallings (Tom); her step-mother, Betsy Murray; many nieces and nephews, and a generous support network of loving friends.
A service to celebrate the life of Lisa Rice will be held on Wednesday, June 12, 2024 at 3 p.m. in the Sanctuary of First United Methodist Church. The family will receive friends beginning at 1:30 pm, prior to the service in Disciple Hall. A burial will be in Hollywood Cemetery on Thursday, June 13, 2024 at 10 a.m.
