Mrs. Darby was born in Henderson County, Tennessee on January 25, 1933 and was 85 years old.
She was preceded in death by James Ray Darby Sr., her beloved husband of 59 years. She was also preceded in death by her parents,Robert Coy Tucker and Francis Stanford Tucker, and her brother, Leon Tucker. Mrs. Darby is survived by
her two sons, James Ray (Jim) Darby Jr. of Jackson, Tennessee and Dennis Tucker Darby (Charlene) of Knoxville, Tennessee and her three grandchildren, Kaitlyn Hope Darby, Landon James Darby, and Lauryn Faith Darby all of Knoxville, Tennessee.
Mrs. Darby was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and daughter providing loving care for her family as a homemaker. Her skills and efforts as a gardener were well known and always appreciated by her family and friends in the bounty seasoned by love she provided to them all.
Mrs. Darby was an active member of Wards Grove Baptist Church where she served in many capacities... Her interest never waned in the church, community and her friends even though her health in later years did not permit her attendance at church services. She missed attending services greatly.
She never lost her love of her home church, Mt. Gilead Baptist Church in Henderson County. She measured her friends and family in that church and community until her passing.
Her family and friends will miss her greatly, but her example of hope, faith and charity will be an inspiration to us all as we carry forward with her message of encouragement in our hearts and minds to serve the Lord. She leaves a life well lived and job well done in our hearts where she will always abide.
We thank the Lord for the gift of Bobbie Onita Tucker Darby.
