

Bobby was born on December 3, 1946, in Jackson, Tennessee, to the late Willard and Ruth Cleek Davis. He was raised in Hardeman County, where he learned the values of hard work, faith, and service that guided him throughout his life. Bobby proudly served his country in the United States Army as a paratrooper from 1968 to 1974, serving with honor and dedication.
A man of strong faith, Bobby was a faithful member of Southside Baptist Church, where he especially enjoyed cooking breakfast for the church’s annual conferences—an act of service he took great pride in. He was a devoted and dependable worker, spending 20 years at the Bemis Cotton Mill and another 20 years at Daltile before retiring.
Bobby was preceded in death by his parents, Willard and Ruth Davis; his sister, Mary King Laney; his nephew, Esco King; and his stepfather, Melvin Newland.
He is survived by his loving wife, Linda Grooms Davis; his daughters, Kristi Collins (Jimmy) and Amy Smith (Chad); his cherished grandchildren, Hunter Collins, Hannah Cotner (Christian), Lucas Smith, and Molly Smith; and his beloved great-grandson, Colsen Gray Cotner.
Visitation will be held Wednesday, January 14th, from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at George A. Smith and Sons South Chapel.
Funeral services will begin at 1:00 p.m., with committal services to follow at New Union Baptist Church Cemetery in Medon, Tennessee.
Bobby will be remembered for his devotion to his family, his church, his country, and his unwavering work ethic. His legacy of love and service will live on in all who knew him.
