Roger Dale Collins

Funeral Services for Roger Dale Collins, 67, will be held on Thursday, March 22, 2012 at 10 am at George A. Smith & Sons South Chapel with Rev. Larry Kirk officiating. Burial will follow at Highland Memorial Gardens.

Mr. Collins died Tuesday, March 20, 2012 at his home with his family by his side.

He is survived by his daughters, Debbie (Roger) Collins Thornhill , Julie (J...eff) Collins Thompson, and Lesa Harris McMinn; three grandchildren, Michael Thornhill, Brittany Thompson, and Jeffery Thompson; one great grandchild, Avagrace Collins Thompson; two sisters, Wanda Collins Murley and devoted and loved sister, Jeanie Shields. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his wife Joella Jones Collins; his mother, Jerline Collins Shields; and his maternal grandparents, Clyde and Pansy Stout Collins, whom he referred to as Mom and Dad.

Roger enjoyed football, golf, fishing, duck hunting and traveling with his two close friends, David Caughlin and Joe Hill. He was a member of Woodland Hills and Masonic Lodge #332.

A Visitation with the family will be held on Wednesday, March 21 2012 from 5:00 pm- 8:00 pm in the South Chapel of George A. Smith and Sons. Memorial Contributions may be made in Roger’s memory to Woodlands Hills Golf and Country Club in Jackson, TN.
