William Joseph “Joe” Holcomb, 57, passed away Monday, May 30, 2016. Joe was born January 28, 1959 in Paducah, KY to the late Billy Joe Holcomb and Betty Freeman Holcomb. Joe was president of Superior Metal Solutions and Past Exalted Ruler of Elks 192.
Joe was a loving husband to Connie Matlock Holcomb for 35 years. Always generous with his time, Joe served as Christmas Basket Chairman at Elks 192 for 25 years, expanding on that annual event started by his great uncle James Thompson and sustained by his father Bill Holcomb. Joe was a creative businessman, building Superior Metal Solutions into an innovative regional supplier. He loved spending time at the river and was an avid NASCAR fan, spending more time in the RV than at home most summers. Joe also enjoyed flying in his airplane and spending time with his friends.
Joe is survived by his wife Connie, his stepfather Carl Determeyer, his brother Chuck (Valerie) Holcomb, sister-in-law Lori (Andy) Bucher, five nieces and nephews, and six great nieces and nephews.
Services are 2 p.m. Saturday at Smith Funeral Home North with visitation starting at 1 p.m. Burial follows at Ridgecrest Cemetery.
