Abraham Bates passed away November 30, 2021 after a brief illness. He was born in Durham, England and is predeceased by his parents, Abraham and Jean Bates. He is survived by his wife, Karen Bates of Jacksonville, Florida; his loving children Jeff Bates and Dawn Bates and grandchildren Daniel, Lauren, Nathan, Katie, and Luke, all residing in England. He was a beloved son-in-law, brother, brother-in-law, uncle and cousin. Abe had many friends in the U.S. and England. He retired as a cryogenic engineer and became an avid and talented hobbyist, enjoying woodworking and leather crafts. In lieu of a service, there will be a celebration of his life scheduled at a later date where friends and family can raise a pint in his honor.
