

Al was born March 25, 1932 in Baltimore, MD. He is preceded in death by his parents Albert and Alice Rabassa, and his sister Mary Alice.
Al was married 68 years to his beloved wife and mother of his four sons, Dorothy. His sons are Albert and his wife Cecelia, Patrick (deceased), Eugene and wife Christine, and Erik and wife Julie. Al had four grandchildren, AJ, Matt, Tom and his wife Roxana and Katy and her husband Oliver, a great-grandson Oliver and another great-grandchild due in April.
Al attended Calvert Hall HS, Baltimore, MD, Class of 1950, then a graduate of Loyola University in Baltimore, Class of 1955, and Graduate Studies at John Hopkins University and UCLA. He served in the USMC as a Captain in the mid 1950’s in Korea, a Korea War Veteran. He went on to serve in the Reserves though the mid 1960’s.
He worked in Business Management and Finance with GM/Ford, the food industry and the computer industry as an International Computer consultant in the early 1970’s. He graduated from flight school as a Private Pilot in 1977. He also acquired his acrobatic pilot license. He was an author and lecturer in the computer field. Al worked in the banking industry at Florida National Bank and retired from the IRS, continuing his civil service.
Al and his family, enjoyed a long and full life, living in different US locations, and internationally with his career. Al and Dotty settled in Atlantic Beach, owning the Mayport Marina for some time, active in boating, members of Ponte Vedra and downsizing further inland for their retirement years.
Al and Dotty are members of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Atlantic Beach. A memorial service will be celebrated at a later date for friends and family.
The family would like to thank the caring staff at Mayo Hospital and the McGraw Hospice and the nurses that attended Al.
