

Alois (Al) Williams went home to be with his savior and Lord Jesus Christ on January 25, 2026. He was 92 years young. Al was born on December 8, 1933, in Chinquapin, North Carolina and attended Atlantic Christian College in Wilson, North Carolina where he graduated in 1957. He then accepted a position as a science teacher in Palatka, Florida, where he met the love of his life, Clarice Jones. He later went to work with General foods, Maxwell House coffee sales division in 1962. He became a territory sales manager working around the country in Orlando, Fort Lauderdale, Omaha, Atlanta, and White Plains, New York before moving to Jacksonville, Florida where he completed his sales career and retired after 34 years. He greatly enjoyed his time in sales. Al served as a deacon and in various positions at First Baptist Church of Jacksonville. He had two children who he loved to spend time with along with nephews, nieces and many good friends. He and Clarice lately attended Holiday Hill Baptist Church, where he loved to sing and fellowship with friends. Al is survived by his wife of nearly 70 years, Clarice, J. Williams. His son Gregg, wife Mary Ann, granddaughter Alyssa Williams, and great grandson John Tucker. His daughter Cheri W. Burnett, husband Ken Burnett, granddaughter Christi, husband Jeremy, great grandson’s, James and Michael. Grandson Kyle Burnett, grandson, Kory Burnett, wife, Amanda, great grandson, Micah, great granddaughter Mia and great grandson Malachi on the way. He also has several beloved nieces and nephews. He is proceeded in death by his dad, Alfred Ellis, his mom, Ethel Parker. His brothers, Clarence, Marvin, J.C., Harry and John Allen. His twin sister Joyce and his sisters Doris and Mary. What a family reunion they are having now! Al will always be remembered for his faith, love of family, laughter, singing, and whistling throughout his life. He fought the good fight and finished the race well and was welcomed in the arms of Jesus. He will be greatly missed and cherished forever.
A Celebration of Life will be held at Holiday Hill Baptist Church on Saturday, January 31, 2026, at 3:00 PM with visitation starting at 2:30 PM. There will be a graveside burial at Oaklawn Cemetery on San Jose Blvd at 2:30 PM on February 2nd.
In lieu of flowers and in honor of Al, the family would like donations to go to Holiday Hill Baptist Church. Al’s prayer for you is found in Philippians 3:13 and 14… forgetting what lies behind and pushing forward to what lies ahead, press on, toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus.
