74 years ago, on a cold, crisp, clear Tuesday morning, in the rolling snow covered hills overlooking the English Channel in Ramsgate, Kent, England, Harry and Hilda Fagg, had the brightest moment of their lives, when their first daughter, Audrey Joan was born into this world. In pre-war England, life was full of plenty, abundant with love and joy. Soon shattered by the dreadful actions of World War II, Audrey and her family endured the war, rife with suffering from separation and rationing, full of fear from bombing and shelters, yet anchored in love for one another. Audrey met Donald Coleman in 1952 at the age of 19, fell in love and came to Jacksonville to be married in January of 1954. She was the quintessential lady, a great Mom, and one of the kindest people to ever walk the earth.On September 15, 2007, Audrey Joan Coleman, after an extended illness, slipped through the bonds of this mortal world, and entered the kingdom of everlasting life, to dwell forever with her Saviour, Jesus Christ. She is survived by her husband of 53 years, Donald R. Coleman, Sr., three daughters, Linda MacLeod (Andrew), Jennifer Quinn (Charlie), Deborah Moore (Mark), and one son, Donald ‘Ray’ Coleman, Jr. (Mimi), brother, Brian Fagg (Pauline), and sister, Jennifer Walters (Keith). She was predeceased by her daughter Donna Lynn Coleman, who passed away in 1968 at the age of 14. She had 8 grandsons, 6 granddaughters, and 9 great-grandchildren. Services will be held on Tuesday, September 18, at 11:00 am in the chapel of Corey-Kerlin Funeral Home, 1426 Rowe Avenue, with Reverend Chris Coram officiating. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 pm Monday, September 17, at the funeral home. The family would like to express their deepest appreciation to Community Hospice of Northeast Florida, whose kindness, diligence and professional care eased the suffering of her final days.
