Ben Baxter Trawick, age 69, passed away on September 19, 2014. He was born September 28, 1944 in Jacksonville, Florida, the son of the late Baxter and Della Mae Trawick. Ben served in the U.S. Marine Corps from September 10, 1962-July 26, 1968. He was an avid fisherman and enjoyed spending time on his boat. In his earlier years he liked to race motorcycles. Ben was always a dedicated fan of the Florida Gators and Jacksonville Jaguars. Ben was predeceased by his wife Geraldine “Sissy” Trawick. He is survived by his children, Tina (Austin) Shortridge and Steven (Sheri) Trawick; grandchildren, Lacey, Dalton, Ethan, Charlie, Joey, Ryan and Brooks; great grandson Broxton; sister, Ethel Bell and many other relatives and friends. A memorial service will be held at 4 p.m. on Tuesday, September 23 at Hardage-Giddens Funeral Home of Mandarin. The family requests that those in attendance dress casual in honor of Ben. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Wounded Warrior Project.
