

Preceded in death by her first husband, Earl J. Wadkins, and late husband, Edward V. Mackoul; she is survived by her daughters, Cynthia Manouilidis (George) and Samantha Wyatt (Timothy); step-daughters, Susan Wadkins and Lori Byers (Lewis); step-sons, Rick Wadkins (Lynn) and Mike Mackoul
(Cyndi); brothers, Roger Davis (Pat) and Bill Davis (Juanita). She is predeceased by her sisters, Marian, Jacqueline and Norma; and step-son, Jim Wadkins. Grandmother to Tim, Regina, Jaime, Mark, Andreas, Elizabeth, Cynthia Anne, Brad, Nick, Landon, Logan, Blake, Chelsea, and great-grandchildren, Natasha, Stefan, Olivia, Amelia, along with several beloved nephews, nieces, and cousins.
Bette was a longtime resident of Jacksonville and loved by all, she never hesitated to volunteer, including RAP, TPC, Avondale Merchants Associates, St. Luke’s Auxillary, and the Woman’s Club. She and Edward founded Avondale Gift Boutique in the late 80’s. She built and ran the business until 2011 when she retired.
Visitation will be Wednesday, March 8th from 5-8pm at Hardage-Giddens Oaklawn Chapel, 4801 San Jose Blvd., Jacksonville, Florida. Funeral services will be held 11:00am on Thursday, March 9th at Episcopal Church of the Good Shepherd, 1100 Stockton St., Jacksonville, Florida. A graveside service will immediately follow at Oaklawn Cemetery.
