Bill was preceded in death by his wife of 67 years, Patsy Boyd Smith, mother Onie Smith, father Callie Smith, sisters Virginia Howard and Mamie Louis Vaugh, brothers Callie, Melvin, Leonard (TP), and George Smith. He is survived by his sons, Bob (wife Margaret), Fred, Gary (wife Bonnie) Smith, and his daughters Deborah Owen (husband Russ) and Michele Gregerson.
His determination, work ethic, love and legacy will continue to shine through his 15 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren, with 1 more on the way.
He retired as a shop foreman with Montgomery Industries. He had a love for fox hunting, fishing, and watching his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren playing sports, especially baseball. He will be remembered through the shared stories told by his family and friends.
Visitation will be held at 11 a.m. with funeral services following promptly after on Saturday, March 13, 2021 at Hardge-Giddens Greenlawn Funeral Home and Cemetery, 4300 Beach Blvd., Jacksonville, FL 32207. In lieu of flowers, your love can be expressed through donations to Northeast Florida Community Hospice.
