

Blanche was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Louis; and by her close friend, Sidney Berkowitz. She is survived by her children, Rene Slott Montaigne, Chuck Slott, and Dr. Marvin Slott; by her grandchildren, Alicia Slott Bryant (David), Jeffrey Montaigne and Erin Slott; by her great-grandchildren, Katherine Bryant, Morgan Bryant and Jack Bryant; and by her many nieces, nephews, cousins and other close family.
Blanche worked for many years at the Jacksonville Jewish Center, retiring at age 70 as Executive Director. She was a tireless volunteer as a Girl Scout leader, Boy Scout leader, at the Museum of Science and History, for the Jacksonville Jewish Center Sisterhood, for the Sylvia Shorstein Archives at the Jacksonville Jewish Center and at Grove House among others. Blanche was an accomplished artist, having many of her paintings in private collections. For years, she taught art to children and adults and painted portraits on commission. Blanche was a kind, intelligent, tireless worker and a considerate and compassionate woman. The family wishes to thank her wonderful caregivers: Mary Chisholm, Cynthia Williams and Ola McCall.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, July 12, at 11:00 a.m. at the Jacksonville Jewish Center, 3662 Crown Point Road, Jacksonville with burial to follow at the New Center Cemetery, 43rd and Liberty Streets, Jacksonville, Florida.
Those paying condolence calls are encouraged to visit Tuesday -Thursday evenings, July 12 – 14, from 4:00 to 8:30, at the home of Dina and Howard Fetner, 9968 Ridgefield Drive.
