Something made me think of Burle today. I did an online search and was saddened to find his obituary.  My earliest memory of Burle was when we were in the nursery together at Norwood Baptist Church.  His mother was one of the teachers with Mrs. Edwards, Jay's mother. I found a children's book these ladies gave me in my mother's belongings when she passed away. It was the story of Jesus feeding the multitudes with a boy's lunch.  I later gave it to my infant son and read it to him. Belated condolences to Burle' s family and friends.  

This sad news prompted me to search the Norwood Baptist Church. Again I was saddened to find the church is holding its final service as Norwood Baptist on September 25th. I am planning on attending with my family.  I hope to see some old friends and acquaintances there.

I remember Burle and his family growing up at Norwood Baptist Church.  Our small choir was going to be singing at a function at another church. Cliff Parrish was our director and played the piano at the same time.  During practice someone said that our group would probably be the smallest group singing at the function.  Burle said,  " Big things come in small packages!"  He was right.  People were surprised at the big sound that came out of our little group. Rest in peace, Burle.  I remember the days at Andrew Jackson where I would see him walking, or rushing, down the halls with an armload of books, and always with a big smile on his face!  I know he lived his life with that same smile ready for others.  He was such a nice person.  God bless all his family and loved ones.

Phyllis, Adam & Shelley,  My husband and I met Burle through the Gator Club of Jacksonville. He was always so kind and a great leader. May God's love give you all strength at this most difficult time.

I knew Burle and his parents and sisters. We all grew up in Norwood and attended Norwood Baptist Church. He will be missed. From a gator fan to his family, may God Bless you during your time of sorrow.

When we moved to Jacksonville in 1998 and came to Swiss Cove , Burle and Phyllis were the first people to welcome us and Burle was kind enough to help Connie get a job at Coastal. May God bless and comfort Phyllis, Adam and Shelly. We will all miss Burle and his leadership and wisdom.

Phyllis, It doesn't seem that long ago when I met Burle as the new guy at Coastal back on Olivia St. We will all miss him. God bless your family.

To Phyllis, Martha, Vivian and Family,  I had the opportunity of sharing life with the Wiggins family from a young child attending Norwood Baptist Church. I am sad to hear of Burles passing but blessed to have known him .My Prayers are with all of you during this difficult time.

Dear Phyllis and family, I am so saddened at the loss of Burle. We have been friends since elementary school. I remember riding my bike with him as he threw the afternoon paper. We laughed so many times together not only then but throughout our times together at Norwood, Kirby-Smith, Andrew Jackson, and UF. He was always fun to be around and a friend to so many.
