

Charles Anderson Mathis, Jr. “Andy” born on December 6, 1944 went to be with the Lord on December 29, 2016. Those left behind to cherish his memory are his wife, Cindy; daughter, Christina; son, Taylor; brother and sister-in-law, Jack and Linda Mathis of Saint Johns, FL; and many other loving extended family members. He was preceded in death by his father, Charles A. Mathis and his mother, Lois Hamlin Mathis of Dawson, GA. Andy was a loving husband and devoted father. He was married to Cindy for 37 years and the family enjoyed many memorable trips snow skiing, vacationing on the beach and water sports. He resided in the North West St. Johns County area for 38 years where he was active in Mills Field Little League. As a Coach and Commission he motivated and inspired his teams in sportsmanship and the pillars of character. His favorite team to coach was the TWINS. Andy was blessed to be an identical twin sharing a special bond with his brother Jack. They were notoriously unidentifiable as and were commonly called JackAndy. He was deeply loved and respected by family and friends and will truly be missed. Visitation will be held from 5:00 - 8:00pm on Tuesday, January 3, 2017 in Hardage-Giddens Funeral Home of Mandarin.
