

Chresanthe was born and raised in Springfield, Massachusetts. She was baptized and was a long-time parishioner of St. George Cathedral where she served as a Sunday School Teacher, member of the Philoptochos Society, Parish Council and Glendi Festival volunteer. She attended Classical High School and was a member of the Color Guard. She graduated from Westfield State University with a degree in teaching where she met the love of her life, Joseph, whom she married and enjoyed 48 wonderful years together. After moving to Florida, she became a member of St. John the Divine and Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox churches. She was a member of the Philoptochos Society at both churches as well as a festival volunteer where she operated the “Kafenio” for Holy Trinity.
Chresanthe enjoyed traveling and attending concerts of her favorite musicians, Julio Iglesias and Il Divo. She was a kind, welcoming soul who loved her faith and was extremely proud of her Greek heritage and culture. She loved to dance, entertain friends and spend time with her grandchildren, including her “Camp Yia Yia” during the summertime.
Chresanthe was predeceased by her parents, Moschos and Anastasia, and her sister, Sophia. She is survived by her husband of 48 years, Joseph, her son Joseph, Jr. (Lynn), daughter Catherine (Bailey) and grandchildren Alexa, Hannah, Jack and Sophia.
Donations may be made in her memory to St. John the Divine, Holy Trinity or St. Photios Shrine of St. Augustine.
A trisagion for Chresanthe will be held Friday, March 3, 2023 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church, 2940 Co Rd 214, St Augustine, FL 32084. A funeral service will occur Saturday, March 4, 2023 at 11:30 AM at St John the Divine Greek Orthodox Church, 12760 Beach Blvd, Jacksonville, FL 32246.
