

Davis Arthur Stacy, 88, went home to be with the Lord on December 7, 2017. He was born on August 10, 1929 to Arthur L. and Lucile Stacy in Chickamauga Georgia. It was there that he met Carolyn Bailey. They were married on September 11, 1948.
From 1952-1954 he served in the Army in Korea when he returned home he attended college at the University of Tennessee, graduating in two and one half years, with a degree in business administration. After graduation he was recruited by the Prudential Insurance Company which brought him and Carolyn to Jacksonville. Two years later they had a daughter, Carole Ann.
He was a faithful member of Swaim Memorial Methodist Church for 60 years. He served on the board of trustees as president, was president of the Aldersgate Sunday School Class and the Methodist Men. After retiring in 1993 he began serving with Habitat for Humanity building homes, and helping the ladies in the church with home repairs.
He and Carolyn enjoyed traveling all over the United States and going to the mountains with friends. He loved hunting, fishing, reading and his family. Another favorite thing Davis liked to do was host homemade ice cream socials. Everyone would make their favorite to bring to the party. He could put away some ice cream!
He and Carolyn were married for 68 years. They had one daughter, Ann (John) and two grandchildren, Michael and Stacy Blount. He loved his family well. He was always generous, encouraging and ready to help. He loved Jesus and used his talents to serve Him. He was preceded in death by his father, Arthur, his mother Lucile, and his wife Carolyn, whom he faithfully took care of until her death in August 2015.
The funeral service will be held at 11:00 on Tuesday, December 19, 2017 at the Greenlawn Cemetery Chapel on 4300 Beach Boulevard, with Rev. John Blount officiating. The family will receive friends at the chapel one hour prior to the service with Interment immediately following with military honors. The family is grateful for the dedicated care given by Linda Reed. Arrangements are under the care of Hardage-Giddens Greenlawn, 4300 Beach Blvd., Jacksonville, FL 32207.
