DJ (Dennis, Jr.) Hurst, age 23, passed away suddenly December 30. Born September 14, 1988, in Jacksonville, Fl., DJ is preceded in death by his best friend, his dad Dennis. He is survived by his mother Laurie Ann, sister Sara (Mark) Taylor, grandparents Gerry and Rosalie Hurst, Betty and Bill Forbis, and Bill and Mary Jane Morrell, as well as several aunts, uncles, cousins and girlfriend Hollie Barrett. As strong as an ox, and with a heart of gold, DJ could light up a room with his smile and presence. Like his father, DJ was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed mud bogging and spending time on the water in his John Boat. When not doing those things, you could find DJ incessantly chopping wood, working on his truck, or repairing things with his hands. DJ never met a stranger. He was loved, and will be missed, by all those who knew him. Viewing will be held at the Greenlawn Cemetery Chapel, 4300 Beach Blvd., on Wednesday, January 4, from 1 - 3 PM with Funeral service immediately following.
