Diona B. Moody

Diona Bates Moody, 54, passed away November 18, 2013, after a long illness. Born September 8, 1959 in Jacksonville, FL, she attended Duval County Schools. Diona received her Bachelor’s Degree in Pre-Law from Brenau College in Gainesville, her Master’s degree in Social work from Temple University in Philadelphia, PA, and was pursuing her PhD.

Diona was a social worker, teacher, mentor to many, and was an active member of NASW.

She was preceded in death by her father, Lt Col. William B. Moody, Jr. (Ret.). She is survived by a loving son, Michael Moody Somers, 23 who was the light of her life; mother Ruth Floyd Law; sister Debra Briggs (Terry); brother William Bates Moody III; as well as a very large and loving family.

She was a warm and kind person with a fantastic sense of humor, who will be deeply missed.

A family memorial service will be held at a later date to celebrate Diona’s life.
