Don was a lot of things to many different people. He was family, a friend, role model, chef and most of all a great person. Don was a department manager of Walmart for over 20 years prior to retirement. Don loved the beach more than anything. He loved long walks on the beach collecting shells; his favorite treasure to find was his shark teeth. He loved fishing. Any outdoor sport would give him pleasure. Don had many different talents and was capable of many things: He knew how to build a house from the ground up with his own two hands and if given enough time, most likely would have.
Don leaves behind his loving wife, Bridgette; his sons, Tommy and Terri of Ormond Beach, FL; his stepson, Bobby of Daytona Beach; stepdaughters, Amanda of Ormond Beach, FL, Crystal Doxtator and her husband Richard; his precious granddaughter, Alexia whom he adored more than anything; Tabitha and David Sandberg of Jacksonville FL; mother-in-law, Susan Matot of Suffield, CT; extended family, Jean Bedard, Denise and Dan Russo, Mary and Steven Reed from CT. Words cannot describe how much Don will be missed dearly, and how much he was loved by all.
The burial will be a private family matter as Don wished to be remembered in his best days. Donations may be made to Small cell circanoma cancer research.
Fond memories and expressions of sympathy may be shared at www.hgmandarin.com for the Owen family.
