

Doris Meadows Arnold passed away peacefully April 18 at Brookdale Senior Living Facility. The only daughter of Mellye Vereen McDaniel and Lonnie Newman Meadows, Mrs. Arnold was born in Valdosta, Georgia, and completed her education in Georgia schools before moving to Jacksonville. She became active in civic and charitable organizations and was a past member of the San Jose Ladies Golf Association as well as the Ponte Vedra, Sawgrass and Beaches Golf Associations. She served as a board member of both the Baptist and Memorial Hospital Auxiliaries. She was preceded in death by her precious daughter, Therese Ann; son-in-law Richard Arlen Tremps; her parents and five brothers.
Mrs. Arnold is survived by her brother Carl Frances Meadows; three sons: Judge Harold Camp Arnold (Brenda); Walter George Arnold, Jr. (Kathy); and Mark Meadows Arnold; four grandchildren: Kathryn (Kaytee) Ann Goelz Arnold; Walter George Arnold III; Dylan Camp Arnold; and Cole Eugene Arnold; and one great grandson Bhodi Knox Arnold. She had deep love and admiration for her children, grandchildren and great grandson.
A graveside service will be held Saturday, April 25 at Oaklawn Cemetery, 4801 San Jose Blvd., at 12 noon. Mrs. Arnold will rest next to her beloved daughter whose passing she always grieved. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made to Community Hospice of Northeast Florida, 4266 Sunbeam Road, Jacksonville, FL 32257 or Catholic Charities of Jacksonville, 134 E. Church Street, Jacksonville 32202.
