Doris Crickmore Belloit

Doris Inez Crickmore Belloit, 86, passed away on May 1, 2025, at 9:45PM in St. Augustine Beach, Florida, after a lengthy battle with dementia. Born on October 8, 1938, in High Point, North Carolina, Doris lived a life of faith, love, and devotion to her family and community.

Raised in Jamestown, North Carolina, Doris attended Jamestown High School, where she shone as a talented basketball player and cheerleader. Her passion for life extended to her deep faith as a long-time member of the Murray Hill and Saint Augustine South Congregations of Jehovah’s Witnesses. Doris remained an active and faithful congregant until her passing. She spent many years living at Matanzas Inlet, where she found joy walking the beach, collecting shells and sharks’ teeth.

Doris was preceded in death by her father, George C. Crickmore, her mother, Ruby Tucker Crickmore, her brother, George Crickmore, Jr. and great granddaughter, Raina Dawson. She is survived by her beloved husband of 67 years, Donald J. Belloit of St. Augustine Beach; her three children, Donnie Belloit (Marisa), Shelley Belloit, and Jeremy Belloit of St. Augustine; her grandchildren, Jourdan Belloit, Chelsea Belloit Dawson (Evan), Teagan Belloit, and Jake Belloit; her great-granddaughter Story Bell, who always brought a familiar smile to her face, as well as numerous nieces & nephews.

The family extends heartfelt thanks to the caregivers who provided compassionate support during Doris’s illness.

A small graveside ceremony will be held on Saturday, May 17, 2025, at 11:00 AM. Oaklawn Cemetery, 4801 San Jose Boulevard, Jacksonville, Florida. Nick Belloit officiating.
