On July 20th, 2015, Doug passed away peacefully of natural causes at his home in Middleburg, Florida. He was 67 years old. Doug Evans was born at St. Vincent’s Hospital in Jacksonville, Florida on January 28, 1948. He was the youngest of four sons born to Louis and Virginia Evans. Doug loved his family and he loved music. He never missed an opportunity to brag about his children or grandchildren. Music was a lifelong passion of his and we hope you were fortunate enough to hear him sing and play his guitar. If not, that legacy will continue through his sons and grandchildren. He loved to take pictures and while we often poked fun, what a great blessing that is now. Countless moments will forever be captured that show what a loving son, father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend he was to so many. Doug had a huge heart, was a kind soul and made sure he said “I love you” to the people he cared about. One of his greatest gifts was the gift of encouragement and for these things, he will be greatly missed. We love you.
Doug was preceded in death by his wife, Marie; his parents, Louis and Virginia Evans; and his brother, Larry. He is survived by his children, Chris, Jason, Matt, Stephanie, Russell, April and Douglas; his grandchildren, Connor, Carter, Hayden, Ethan, Sophie, Aubrey, Marisa, Phillip, Justin, Hunter, Autumn, Savannah, Avery, Michael, and David; his brothers, Mike and Claude; and many other close family members and friends.
The memorial service will be held at eleven o'clock on Monday, July 27, 2015, with a visitation one hour prior to the service at The Oaklawn Chapel, 4801 San Jose Blvd, Jacksonville, FL 32207.
