Earl N. Shimp Jr.

Earl was predeceased by his loving wife, Rowena. His survivors include brothers, Roy (June), Neil (Margaret); sister, Shirley Cason; daughters, Earlena, Elaine (Ed), Jo (Ed); son, Earl (Cathie), along with many loving grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Mr. Shimp proudly served his country with the U.S. Army/Air Force and was a W.W.II veteran.

He was a lifetime members of Bricklayers Local #2 in Jacksonville, as well as an employee with the Area Agency on Aging in his “second career.” Mr. Shimp was truly a remarkable man and will always be remembered, admired, and loved by all who knew him.

In lieu of flowers, Earl has requested donations be made in his memory to the National Kidney Foundation, 1040 Woodcock Road, Ste 119, Orlando, FL 32803-3510.

Family will receive friends from 6-8 PM Friday, December 3, 2010 at Hardage-Giddens Funeral Home, 4115 Hendricks Avenue. Funeral services will be held 2:00 PM Saturday, December 4, 2010 at the Hardage-Giddens Hendricks Chapel with Father David Paysinger officiating. Private family burial will be at Greenlawn Cemetery.
