Edward was born on November 3, 1944 and lived most of his life in Jacksonville, Florida. He had a great capacity to love deeply, but he was an iconoclast who bestowed that honor only on a lucky few. Edward worked as a jewelry salesman and a stockbroker; the work for which he was most proud, however, was his time spent volunteering at a children's home in Topeka, Kansas, and his unending devotion to raising his daughter, Elizabeth.
Edward was preceded in death by his parents, Benjamin E. Baker and Esther F. Baker. He is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Elizabeth and Mark Brite; and grandchildren, Benjamin and Roxanne; stepson, Todd Wahnish; brothers, Marvin and David, their spouses Carol and Betsy; and nieces and nephews Stuart, Curtis, Trudy, and Juliana, their spouses and children.
Graveside services will be held at 3:00pm, Monday, August 22, 2016 at New Center Cemetery with Rabbi Howard Tilman, officiating. The family requests donations in memory of Edward be sent to River Garden Hebrew Home. Go Gators. Please Sign the guestbook at www.hardagegiddensoaklawnchapel.com
