

Edwin B. Cunningham, 92, died Sunday May 10th at his home after an extended illness. Mr. Cunningham was born and educated in Kentucky, earning his bachelor’s degree from Union College and his masters from Eastern Kentucky University. He was a WWII veteran having served in both the European and Asia-Pacific Theaters with the 1064th Engineering Forestry Company. Coach Cunningham retired from the Duval County School Board after 37 years of service as coach, Dean of Boys and Athletic Director. He had worked at Landon, Wolfson and Paxon High Schools as well as Paxon Junior High. In retirement, he enjoyed traveling extensively, playing golf and gardening. He is survived by his wife of 67 years. Jeanne, 2 daughters, Allison Edwards (Charlie) of Tallahassee, Florida, Anne English (Bob) of Superior, Colorado, one son, Allen Cunningham (Debi) of Jacksonville Beach, a sister, Sara Cosby; 5 grandsons, one great grandson and two great granddaughters. The family would like to express special thanks to caregivers Sophia and Michelle for their heartfelt dedication.
