Eileen Brennan Goldman died on June 13, 2021 following complications from a severe stroke. Eileen was born in Newark, New Jersey on January 6, 1953 and grew up in Scotch Plains, New Jersey. She attended Union Catholic High School in Scotch Plains and graduated with a degree in English from Kean University in Union, New Jersey.
She came to Jacksonville in 1976 to work for the Prudential Insurance Company. She retired early from insurance and transportation logistics consulting and became a published author writing romance novels. Eileen was a member of the Romance Writers of America and the Jacksonville Chapter of Sisters in Crime.
Eileen lived life to the fullest. She loved to laugh, read, travel, attend concerts, theatre events and comedy shows. She took pleasure in crafts, home improvement, flowers and creative backyard. Her biggest joy was her family.
Eileen was married to Mike Goldman for 38 years. She is also survived by her son, Andrew (Allison) of Jacksonville; daughter, Elizabeth Goldman of Reston, VA; brother, Michael (Linda) Brennan of Scotch Plains, NJ; sister, Diann (Michael) Petix of Brick, NJ; and granddaughter, Alexis of Jacksonville, FL. Other relatives include nephews, Lawrence (Erin) Schaefer of Belmar, NJ, Matthew Schaefer of Brea, CA, and Matthew Goldman of Allentown, PA; sisters-in-law, Judy (Brian) Goldman of Allentown, PA, and Mary Goldman of Greenville, TN; niece, Allison Goldman of Allentown, PA.
The Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, June 16th in Hardage-Giddens Funeral Home of Mandarin, 11801 San Jose Blvd, Jacksonville, FL 32223, with Rev. Anthony White as Officiant.
In lieu of flowers, please make donations in Eileen’s name to the Mandarin Food Bank or Diaper Bank for Northeast Florida.
